Resource Exchange

For a community to be technologically literate, it is important to provide access to computers and the Internet to as many residents as possible, including the less fortunate ones. Some community and child care centers still use early Pentium or 486 computers. Other than for keyboarding, most of those computers are inadequate for today's software applications.

As the name indicates, the purpose of the Resource Exchange is to facilitate the exchange of surplus resources between businesses and community organizations. In particular, we are looking for computers and monitors that companies and individuals are planning to retire and that can be passed on.

We encourage hospitals, large corporations and small businesses to provide us with computers for community technology centers. The minimum requirements for donations of computer hardware are a Pentium II level computer and a 15" monitor.

This section is also a forum for schools, community technology centers, and non-profit organizations to list their technology needs and solicit sponsors.

If you would like to donate or receive equipment, please send email to exchange@ncfcc.org.
