| Our
mission is to develop, implement, and execute a strategic plan that
ensures a sustained cycle of economic prosperity. First and foremost,
we have to put the necessary infrastructure such as telecommunication,
transportation, outstanding public education, technology transfer,
and private capital, in place that attract high wage jobs. Second,
train the existing work force to be competitive in a global economy,
and third, market the region for its infrastructure, outstanding business
performance, and high quality of life.
However,
we understand that this plan can only be realized through regional
cooperation. No single individual, business or government entity
has all the answers. Channeling and strengthening the efforts of
existing economic development groups is one of our primary goals.
Traditional
arbitrary borders no longer carry the importance and political power
they once enjoyed. We now are served by a world economy focused
on quality, efficiency, and maximum value. For the cities of central
Florida to compete and thrive in today's markets we must abandon
our adversarial concerns and move ahead with a decisive plan to
secure our position in the new global economy.
