Danielle
Judd leaves city position
While Chiefland's search for a new city attorney appears to have
picked up steam with two lawyers submitting bids for the job, the
ranks of City Hall officials were further depleted last week when
Planning and Finance Director Danielle Judd abruptly resigned.
City
Hall staff said Oct. 8 that Judd, who only served a year at her
post, had "verbally resigned" and has not yet submitted
a formal resignation.
Judd,
who was reached at her home Oct. 8, confirmed that she is no longer
working for the city, but had no public comment on the matter. She
often received compliments from commissioners during meetings for
her active pursuit of grant funding and her commitment to community
projects.
Meanwhile,
advertisements for a new city attorney have finally, after almost
two months, given the city commission some options.
City
Hall staff reports that bids have been submitted by the Gainesville
firm of Coffey and McPherson and by Tallahassee lawyer Tim Franklin.
The proposals are to be submitted to the commission at its Oct.
22 meeting along with any others that may come before that time.
